Take us to the Bridge

The latest edition of INSIDE SPORTS is available right now by clicking the WATCH NOW button at the top of the page. It features Paul Guggenheimer from Dakota Midday and our look ahead to the Daytona 500 with our NASCAR Correspondent Jim Manzo. We also encourage you purchase stuff from our INSIDE SPORTS Store by clicking the store button, and on the right side of this page we ask you to please donate what you can to the Calypso on the Green Golf Event.

We’re also very excited about next week’s episode because someone from the National Hockey League that Charles and Jon both have a ton of respect for will be appearing on the show to talk hockey. Former NHL great Mel Bridgman will be a guest this week to talk about the upcoming NHL Trade Deadline from his unique perspective.

Mel Bridgman will be our special guest this coming Thursday on INSIDE SPORTS

Bridgman was a tremendously talented center who played 14 season in the NHL as a center. He was with Calgary, New Jersey, Detroit, and Vancouver. But to most, he will be remembered for his days as a member of the Philadelphia Flyers. He was drafted by the Flyers with the first overall draft choice in 1975, and helped the team reach the Stanley Cup Finals during his rookie season, as well as doing so again in 1980. He scored 20 or more goals six times in his career, and succeeded Bobby Clarke as Flyers captain.

After his playing days, he earned a degree from the prestigious Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and would serve as a players agent. He also served as the very first general manager of the Ottawa Senators and drafted Alexei Yashin with their choice, second overall in 1992. He’s written for NHL.com in recent years, covering games and providing his unique perspective on the game to millions of hockey fans.

So as someone who has experienced the business side of the game, in terms of trades, as a player, a player’s agent, a general manager, a scout, and as a reporter, INSIDE SPORTS is exicted to have Mel provide his insights on what the players and GM’s are thinking about.

Be sure to join us live on SyndicateRadio.TV as the great Mel Bridgman joins us this Thursday at 4PM Eastern. After the taping of the show, Mel will take your question through our chat room live!
