PAC12 Football Report

Elisa Hernandez covers PAC12 Football

As kick off approaches, millions of fans are waiting for the unveiling of the newly established Pac-12 Conference. Although USC is the only school not eligible to compete for a national championship, that doesn’t mean they aren’t ready to compete for the number one spot.
The Pac-10 is now a thing of the past, and looking forward schools are looking to be the new powerhouse. The Oregon Ducks look to be the fan favorite since USC is ineligible for post season play. Oregon fell short of a BCS title when they lost to the Auburn Tigers 22-19.
Oregon has thus built up hunger for the new season, and hope to bring home a championship this year. They were 12-1 last year, and fans project them to go undefeated. But so is Stanford with the return of QB Andrew Luck, who brought Stanford fans much joy when he decided to stay another year.

Inaugural Season for the newly formed PAC 12

Some think Stanford will go undefeated as they stood at a 12-1 record last year. So it shall be a showdown when these two schools battle head to head. For now Stanford’s first victim will be San Jose State.
As for this Saturday Oregon faces LSU. Oregon is going in with its highest preseason rank (at No. 3), in the AP Poll, in school history, while LSU is ranked in the top 10 in AP preseason poll for the fifth time in seven seasons.
USC faces off against Minnesota in their season opener and have a 87-23 all season openers; USC is currently 72-27 against Big Ten schools. USC is currently ranked No. 25 and QB Matt Barkley and WR Robert Woods as well as the rest of the Trojans are looking to make a statement this season.
As for the rest of the Pac-12 UCLA takes their act on the road taking on Houston, Cal is taking on Fresno State, Northern Arizona is taking on Arizona, Colorado takes on Hawaii, Oregon State takes on Sacramento State, Idaho State versus Washington State and Eastern Washington goes against Washington.
Get ready everyone…Football is Back!
